In cooperation with Rehau, we refined the zoning system “Rauworks”, which was launched at interzum 2011, to acoustically shield entire work areas, allow individual use of partition walls, and create unique spatial situations. The individual partition wall elements are height-adjustable, either by means of electric motors, such as in the now widely used stand-and-seat tables, or manually – if they are attached directly to the table.
Elements can be lowered for face-to-face communication or raised for work that requires concentration. The electromotive solution works with a floor-standing lifting column and a table-wide acoustic shield; the table-mounted shield has three sound-absorbing segments that can be adjusted individually and manually. The innovations were presented at Orgatec 2012.
